After Coral Bay, we said goodbye to the coast and headed 500 km inland to Tom Price, a small mining town. From Perth we headed to Dandaragan as a stop over and had a look in Badgingarra National Park. We saw some new wildflowers (including an enamel orchid) so went in to nerd mode and out came the cameras. On the way back to the start of the trail, Max jumped 5 foot in the air as he stepped in front of a big ugly lizard, which was thick with no tail and a blue tongue- yuck! As the weather has been so up and down, we planned to spend no more than 2 weeks in this corner of Australia (given we see on the news each evening that this is the only place in the country experiencing wet weather!) and looking at the map we are going to have to cram in some places as there is so much to see. We had booked in to a quiet hostel at Scarborough Beach which is called the Western Beach Lodge and it is fantastic. Small, super friendly and with lots of long term visitors it's more like a shared house than a hostel.
