Ok, confession. I have literally only just noticed this: New York, New York. The city so good they named it twice, is not just from a Frank Sinatra song but also named as such because it's in the state of New York! Hence in the same way that Houston is named Houston, Texas, New York is named New York, New York. Somebody please tell me they also didn't know that...

My last few hours in Philly were possibly more eventful than I anticipated. I had to find some replacement earbuds for my headphones (lost one in DC) so we got sucked into lunchtime Philly traffic. In the end we got to the station with 4 minutes until my booked train was about to leave. I queued to pick up my ticket but the queue wasn't moving so I decided to skip that and go straight to the guard on the platform. I talked my way past him and onto the train. I then had to smooth talk the ticket inspector to explain that while I had no ticket I had booked one and the Philly traffic screwed me over. It worked, all because I said I knew the Queen. Big thanks to Nadine for letting me stay! You were a fantastic host!

To say my first time in New York was short would be something of an understatement. I arrived at about 3pm and was ready to leave my hostel and explore at about 5. My next train out to Niagara Falls is at 7:15am tomorrow! I basically walked along Broadway, saw Times Square and looked in the Rockefeller Center for some food before I had to go back and get some sleep. All because the hostel is booked up tomorrow night.
