Penang is one of those cities that starts out rather unimpressively, but as you stay, you realise there's a lot more life and soul in the place that you took for granted. There is a strange mix of old colonial buildings, mosques, modern shopping centres, run-down townhouses and other buildings of different cultural flavours. It's impressive just to look up at the streets and see all the different architectures that make up the terraces. My trip to Penang started...
