Soooo after finally updating the blog we did something at the weekend, we went to visit my Granddads cousin Kath and her husband Bryan, they live in Tewantin which is North of Brisbane and super close to the Sunshine Coast and Noosa. The area is national park and it's very pleasant on the eye. We have a tour of the area and take in the sights. We go kayaking and fishing, Bryan and I pump some Yabbies out of the sand to use as live bait. They look like prawns but have a massive claw, and the b*****s got me and they don't let go!! They're great bait though and I caught one fish, it was sooooo…….ummm…… annoyingly small I had to put it back! We had a BBQ by the river on one of the free gas BBQ's they have dotted around, yummy. My relies (relatives - we're fluent in Aussie) are really nice and it's a bit weird to be on the other side of Australia with my family from Redruth. Over the Monday (we have the day off work) Me and Maggie go for a 20km cycle ride, eat ice cream, talk family stuff and continue the luxury of eating outside! When we go back to Brisbane, Kath takes us to meet her two sons and Grandchildren, we have more BBQ (we could get used to this) and play some very simple but competitive handball, no one was keeping score but I'm pretty sure I won!!!
The weather is starting to get warmer, so we can go out for coffee and cake more, it's simple but effective. We are doing fairly regular things now that were working, bit of shopping, eating out etc. Last weekend we went to Mt Coot-ha, it gives a great view of the city and area.
One of the best things we've done we did today, today we went to Australia Zoo - home of the Crocodile Hunter! It is a great zoo, there are a lot of animals native to Australia that you don't really see anywhere else such as Cassowary's, Wombats, Koala Bears (You can feed and stroke), Kangaroos (Can feed and stroke), Wallabies, Emus', three types of Croc's and loads of stuff. It is a little weird that Stevie boy isn't there because he's in video's and pictures everywhere and in a little save the animals caption. The Crocoseum is brilliant though, it's actually quite big and the show they do is quality!!! And Monty the salt water Croc is mahussive!!! Crikey what a beauty!!
We also get to see a massive Joey jump into a mama's pouch, seriously it did not look like it would fit but it did, it was the craziest thing and then she just carries him around with his feet poking out!
So that's all our news for now, we will post all the pics we have so far so take a look coz there will be about 3 new folders x
