The next day we just go to the internet café and apply for lots of jobs in Brisbane with high hopes we will get a job for when we get there, we also book our tickets for the train, do some shopping and watch some movies at the hostel before bed.

We get up and sort ourselves out for check out, then we go to the supermarket to get Mattie some passport photos for his ISIC card so we can get cheap train travel, whoo hoo! Then we go to the internet café again and apply for some more jobs before we pick up some snacks for the long train ride to Brisbane (14 hours!).

On the train we play some cards games, I kick Mattie's ass at rummy even though I've only just learned how to play and then we eventually get some sleep even though the woman behind us takes her shoes off to reveal some seriously smelly feet which keep wafting our way! We finally arrive at 6.30am, we have no idea where we are or how we are going to get to Russell Island as we have no map and as it's ridiculously early so there is no-where open to help except of course 7/11 where we stop for a coffee and some of our left over train Tim Tams, mmmmm! We walk to what we think is the high street, call the Translink phone line and eventually find our way to the right bus stop as there are about 50 on the road we are on, it's not too long before the bus gets there and we hop on with our rucksacks, it takes an hour and a half to get to the Marina where we then get a ferry across to the island again we have no idea how to get to Sylvia and Eb's house but eventually we find a map pinned up and decide to walk there as it's such a nice day It takes us about 20 minutes because we go the long way round but eventually we make it there and are welcomed by Sylvia and her little dog Mr Peabody with a much welcomed lunch! In the evening Eb gets home and we just sit and chat and relax in their lovely house which is right on the water and has beautiful views.

We wake up on the Sunday in our room which is facing the water and it's another lovely day, we have a BBQ breakfast with Sylvia and Eb and just spend the morning reading the paper and chatting. In the afternoon Eb and Mattie watch the football and Sylvia and I walk to the coffee shop for the yummiest cappuccinos! In the evening we go for a drink and meet some of Sylvia and Eb's friends before coming back to the house for coffee.

The next week we spend relaxing and enjoying some home comforts again! Some days we go onto the mainland and into town to look for jobs, we have a lovely week and are very grateful to the guys for letting us stay for the week. Mattie gets offered a job which starts the next week so we find a hostel to move into and leave on the weekend to move to the Yellow Submarine. It's a really cool little hostel and the people that are staying here at the moment are really nice plus they give you free dinner on Sunday which is today and we get home made burgers and salad which is yummy and there is loads left over so we get free food again on Monday!
