Really misty in Rio, but we took a trip upto see the Statue of Christ in the smog as part of an organised city tour with a very friendly guide. We could not go up Sugarloaf mountain though as the cable car was closed for maintainance from today (we should have tried yesterday)! We learned more about Rio as a city, the slums, the football passion etc

We attempted a swin in the afternoon on Copacabana but it was more of a wave bashing and falling over then a swim as the sea was so powerful. A lot of sand down swim suit! Another Caipirinha to recover.
