We thought flying on a Jumbo Jet would be comfortable with plenty of space, but the one we got was old and the TV's in the seats didn't even work. The time didn't drag too much though, but by the time we landed and got through customs it was past midnight, so instead of getting the car we grabbed a taxi to our hotel. We thought seeing as our hotel was called Airtel Plaza, it would be near the airport which it was, but it wasn't LAX, it was some little random one about 45 minutes away. It cost us nearly $100 just to get there. The hotel its self was really nice with an extra comfy bed, just what we needed after the horror flight. Even though the bed was so good we didn't get much sleep thanks to the jet lag, but we had to get up and go pick up our MUSTANG! I'd hired us a convertible Ford Mustang to get around LA and for the drive to Vegas. We went with a red one. Having never driven an automatic, nor driven on the right hand side of the road before, I was a little sketchy for the first couple of days but I soon got the hang of it. Our first trip in the Mustang was Hollywood, but it failed miserably and we never found it. Feeling rather tired we cut our losses and headed back to the hotel for a meal and bed. We actually made it to Hollywood the next day and walked down the walk of fame, saw all the sights, including a guy with a bald rat on his shoulder?? We visited the iconic Hard Rock Cafe for lunch and were introduced to the huge American portions. Later on that day we went to the Universal Studios City Walk which is a shopping and food court. It also has a massive IMAX cinema there which we went to and watched the new Batman film. After the film I introduced Mel to the delights of Bubba Gump Shrimp, where we had a huge meal of shrimps in all sorts of varieties. Our last day in LA we spent at the Griffith Observatory taking in the view of the Hollywood sign and smog covered LA. They also had a very good space display going on inside the observatory. Once we'd had a look around everywhere we decided to go for a cruise with the top down and check out all the fancy houses in Beverley Hills. While we were there Mel wanted to have a walk down Rodeo Drive and do a bit of window shopping in the extremely expensive shops they have down there. We even saw Christiano Ronaldo doing a bit of shopping, and Simon Cowell's Bugatti!
