Finally we are packed and on the road again! We paid a quick visit to Nan Delaney on our way out of town and then we hit the highway to Yarrawonga where we planned to spend the night camped on the Murray River. We found a lovely free camp site on the river between Yarrawonga and Cobram where we set up camp.Matt threw in a line; we cooked dinner and then watched a DVD on the river bank sitting beside the fire.

Packed up camp and headed off to Cobram to the post office and then headed north to Griffith where we stopped to refuel and stock up on fruit and veg.We also popped in to an Italian deli where we got some salami, cheese, olives, sundried tomatoes and fresh bread for lunch which we ate on the roadside just out of town.We drove all the way to Lake Cargelligo where we camped out near the weir by the Lachlan River. The night was quite mild so Matt set up our shower and we had a nice hot shower under the stars and dried ourselves by the fire before hoping in to bed.

Mel got up this morning and was stoking the fire when she noticed that there were quite a few fish jumping out of the water, so Matt got threw a line in the river while we were packing up camp.We had just about finished packing up camp when the bells on Matt's fishing rod started ringing.Matt ran down the bank and landed himself a nice, big (70cm) Murray Cod.The biggest cod he has ever caught! We took a few photos and let him go as we didn't have a lot of room in the fridge and we had packed everything away.We finished packing up and hit the road for the ling drive to Lightning Ridge - a small opal mining town in Northern NSW.We arrived in Lightning Ridge about 6pm and pulled in to the caravan park -luckily we didn't need a powered site as the town was full of grey nomads and their caravans and they had booked out all of the powered sites in town.We had a quick shower and walked down to the bowls club for dinner.
