Hello hello. We have finished our Fiji experience and are back in Nadi. We had a really good time. Over the course of four days,we played some rugby against fjians on a beach, visited two villages, a school, went sandboarding, had a kava ceremony (kava is a local drink that numbs your whole body, made from the kava root and water), danced with some tribal elder women, got very muddy in some mud pools baked in a thermal hot pool, and went swimming in a waterfall pool. We also went to the cinema to watch '300', which was brilliant and played loads of beach games, all in terrential rain!
We have finally managed to sort out our boat trip which was very difficult as fijians have no sense of urgency, and we leave tomorrow.
Fiji is inhabited by local Fijians and Indians. The Indians are the hard workers that run all the businesses and shops. The Fijians are much more relaxed and so welcoming it is unbelievable.
The rain hasnt spoilt our experience at all, i was getting pretty sick of beaches anyway! Fiji has been loads of fun, we havent had a boring moment. I have taken a lot of pictures which i will upload in New Zealand, the computers here dont like my camera.
Hopefully I will be able to update again before flying, but if not, speak to you on Sunday! Take care, love Mat
