HEY ALL! long time no write, but been soooo busy! and lot of the time in middle of nowhere! great to be out of sydney. just gona be a shortish posty this one, got meet people on beach asap for a walk to the lighthouse then a surf later! yes, i can now officially surf! and so can josh, he aint arf bad. finishing work was soooooooooo good. not gona write any more bout it. work done. boredom of bondi ended. so surfs up!!! we had 2 great instructors matt and tim, and 12 others on the trip. gerat personal group and everyone was at least standing up after a few days. i realy took to surfing and ended up winning the surf competition which i was really proud of! me and josh were both standing up by the second day, and by the end i was turning, doing 180's and speeding up and slowing down on the board. it was so much fun, and im absolutely obsessed with surfing now. the whole lifestyle i fell in love with. we'd wake up at 7 each day, go on the hunt for good waves, learnt how to find them, e.g. whether the beach is nother of south facing, how the wond effects it(onshore or offshore winds) and where rips were. every night i got pretty wasted so wasnt normally at my best in the morning but come the arvo id be out there for hours practising different manouvers. then wed have more amazing food, go back to the surf lodge and hava party! the first 2 nights were spent at the same 100 acre lodge, with pool, dorm rooms, party area, tennis, volleyball etc. lots of guitars and singing, and lots of goon! (box wine). managed to get the nickname Goon... hmmm. 3rd night we went another few hours north and to a gorgeous surf retreat in the national park somewhere, dont no where, and found beautiful unspoilt beaches with waves for all standards. unbeleivably good trip. great people and great instructors. met a damn nice girl from devon too :) and i m thinking of going back and working as a halper in the trips, may do it next month, dont get paid but u get to surf all day and just have to make food and do bedding etc. cool! but for now, we are in byron bay, surf capital of Oz and on tues 5 of us go south a bit to a surf lodge fora few days, then back up to byron thurs, then fraser island fri-sun and back to brisbane city for a few days seing friends and hopefully if we have time me and josh will go visit family in Surfers Paradise(cheesiest name ever i know) near Brisbane. lots of fun ahead!!!!! then after that ill be fruit picking hopefully as my money will be back at zero! no worries something will come up! theres a few jobs in byron but they are badly paid, so im gona blitz a few weeks fruit picking then carry on travelling or go back to surf course to work. happy days. ok well i seem to have updated now so all good. oh yeah josh and i went to aquarium and sky tower, also damn good. pictures will explain all. sharks etc. :) hope everyone is well! my lips are burnt and josh is getting browner, and im hungry and josh is going for a biff cut. will update after the amazing fraser island self drive trip!
