Mary's Travels
We woke up early this morning to watch the sun rise over Clear Lake. Sara, Julia, and I weren't quite as fast as the others, and we tried to get some hot chocolate but the store was closed, so we went to the hiking trail and sat down and ate some trail mix. It was so cold!! The wind and the raging waves didn't help either. When we couldn't take it anymore, we went back to the store (which opened finally) and got some hot chocolate and coffee. We drank our warm treats on the peninsula at the end of the bay, under a Canadian flag. It was very relaxing. Sadly, we had to return to the campsite to pack things up we cooked up our last hash browns and hit the road. We took the scenic route in hopes of seeing a bear or moose. Again, we failed. But we got some cool pictures anyways. It was a four hour drive to Winnipeg, but we finally made it and went to a park to try and see a jazz concert. Sadly, we missed it (they ended early) but the park was gorgeous! The gardens we beautiful and the park was huge!! We got antsy an just wanted to get to the hotel, so we checked in. It ended up being a nice hotel and right downtown so it's a good location. We went to dinner in the Forks (a shopping district). We got Italian pasta and it seemed very fancy to us campers. Then we rushed off to Mass and even though we got lost, we still made it and it was actually a really good Mass. The priest had a motivating homily. After Mass we wanted to explore some, but we explored too much and got lost haha. We eventually found our way back to the hotel where we just relaxed, some went to the pool, some watched Star Wars in French. Then we went to sleep and enjoyed the real beds :)
