We woke up early this morning to go to the bakery and eat in time for our first planche à voile (windsurfing) classes. There are two others in our class- a guy from NYC and a girl from a neighboring town. They're both a few years younger than I am. We got the boards and ourselves ready, and by the time that was done we were ready to cool off in the water. Since there was no wind today, we just did some board exercises. We slept in today and woke up to a classic Collioure breakfast- a huge pastry that I think was deep fried and definitely covered in sugar. And I thought donuts were unhealthy. We burned off calories by walking through the market. The biggest one is on Sunday, so we had to check it out. Lots and lots of people and all kinds of different things. After that we hung out and made a salad for lunch- I've cut onions before but I've never cut an onion that was so strong!...

We left the house at 4:00am and slept in the car while Jean drove us to Collioure. I can't say that I slept too much, but the ride wasn't bad at all. Today I woke up early to go to Notre Dame de Sion in Évry with Vanessa. It was really cool to see, and there were even people there to see their results on the BAC. While Anne chatted with her students about their scores, Vanessa and I explored the school. It was a pretty normal looking school, but it was nice and big. 1,500 students, 6th to 12th grade.
