Yesterday we agreed we would do our own things today.
Nick W was padre to the Devon and Dorset Light Infantry, has a significant and personal interest in the Battle of Arnhem and wants to explore the museums, cemetery and monuments dedicated to its history. They set off on the bike mid morning.
We had considered trying to park in the town, but with it being a national celebration day and with us not having the same level of interest, we decide we’d prefer a standstill day. It’s been ‘full-on’ for nearly two weeks and although we’ve had a couple of restful afternoons, the chance to sit in peace and quiet, amid the trees and take things easy is to good to pass up.
In the evening it is dinner for two and Friday night is curry night!
