Motorhomes may be tolerated parking on the sea front, but the locals turn up at 07:30 blaring club music out of their cars lest we should over-sleep. it's an equally lovely sunrise, the low angled light picking out the colours and relief in the rock. As the sun rises higher it lights up the towns down the coast and casts perfect reflections in the still waters of the coves below us. It rained most of the night and is still raining this morning. We service the vans and leave at 11:20 along a rainy, spray filled road, the only respite coming in the frequent tunnels. Stretches of the road are brand new dual carriageway with a beautifully drained surface, and it follows the coast up and down and around until we stop for lunch near Motril. From this point we leave behind the arid scrubland covered with mile after mile of ugly poly-tunnels....

Bright and sunny morning and the sun is warm as we go to meet the bus at the campsite gate. The first bus arrives just as we get out, but no ramp. 20 minutes later the next bus arrives, no ramp. As we are getting dressed we hear a horn tooting, which turns out to be a baker's van delivering to the campers in the dunes. Ali goes over and buys a baguette, two spiced buns and two small pasty-like objects. It is a bright sunny morning as we set off along the coast road towards Carboneras.
