We are woken by birdsong at 04:30 just as it is getting light, but obviously stay in bed for a few hours more. When we eventually get up the sun is shining and it's getting warm. We service the vans and check out at 11:00 The drive though Prague is much easier today with very little traffic, and soon we are heading south past Pibram and Pizek. The sky is very dark and there are a few spots of rain, but the countryside is really pretty; rolling hills and pine forest or large meadows of wild flowers. The 11:29 tram takes us into the city and we cross over Charles Bridge. It is very busy with lots of tour groups and Saturday visitors. On the other side we catch No22 tram up to the Castle. Inside the courtyard is very bright and clean, and small groups of guards march through from time to time.
