Packed up and moved off these prime pitches, serviced vans and checked out with a complimentary bottle of wine. We drove alongside the lake for a while through Sarnico, and while we didn't see the Riva factory we did see enough to know the town would be worth a ferry ride if we came again. There is a small waterway, church with gleaming bells and flower baskets everywhere we look.
The road towards Milan is roundabout after roundabout. We stop for lunch under the flightpath for Milan airport then it's a slow bumpy drive through a number of attractive little towns until we reach the sosta at Lecco on the edge of Lake Como. The view of the lake is quite good but it is 36C and we have to block it out with silver screens and the heat radiates off the tarmac making things uncomfortable.
We plan some routes and options for the next few days, have a light supper and try to sleep in the heat, made worse by having to close the windows as the sosta is in the edge of a busy, noisy road and at night it seems to attract a few wierdoes who just sit in cars playing with phones.
Suppose they can't all be good so we just consign it to bad luck and move on in the morning.
