Today I saw the mountains for the first time since being here!! I don't know why I haven't seen them before, maybe it was too foggy, or I've been driving in the dark... But today, after having breakfast at Gaia and meeting up with Michael and his two friends Anthony and Joel, we drove to DNC, and I saw them!! Just peeping over the tops of the distant hills, there they were, they snowy peaks of the mountains!! It made me smile a lot. In pokhara next week we'll see...

Today the plan was to go to DNC. So I went to Gaia at about middayish to meet Michael, who I had texted yesterday to ask of I could share a taxi to DNC. I sat and drank a latte, and waited until 1pm, then rang Michael to see where he was. When he picked up, there was no hello, just "oh. Mary. Oh dear. I've completely forgotten you!!" Turns out he had gone earlier than planned, and gone to I think the spinal injury hospital, and then on to DNC after that. So inste...

Today I got my first professional massage!! I went back to the place after a coffee and some nachos at New Orleans Cafe (very good coffee!!), and they said they could do it there and then - 30 minutes for 800rps (about £4 or £5). So I followed the small Nepali lady into the "paradise" massage room, and she told me to undress my top half. I expected her to leave the room to let me get on with it, but she just stood there. Today started with another lazy morning... Woke up eventually at 10ish, but climber out of bed at 11.30ish, got dressed and went to Gaia for breakfast. I felt I needed a proper breakfast!! I met Michael and Pam there which was nice, and we had a little catch up. For breakfast, I had a latte (much needed coffee) and an "American breakfast" - sausages, fried eggs, brown toast with butter and jam, and potatoes fried with green peppers and onions. Not much happened today... I woke up at almost 12 noon which was nice!! I felt very well rested. I pulled myself out of bed a few hours later, and spent the next 2 or 3 hours just wandering around Thamel. I picked up the trousers I asked the tailor to make yesterday, and they're beautiful!! I tried them on later and they're so comfortable!! I also finished my book "the girl who fell from the sky" - Sally Hargrave I think you'd quite like it. It's during the Seco...
