We have travelled to Isfahan which is considered one of the holiest cities in Iran. We have three nights here in a hostel.
After driving through miles of desert and large industrial areas we arrive at our hostel which is in the heart of the city centre. Our guide Mohammed , stated that this was a city of flowers and he is not wrong, apart from the large square and religious buildings, this city has 33 bridges along its rivers. We walked about 15 kilometres along the river. This country has still not stopped amazing us, as the people are so friendly without being intrusive. The gardens are well kept and beautiful.
The bazaar, which is the biggest we have come across so far, is full of artisans making silver filigree pots, copper work, miniature paintings, and apart from the usual persian carpet sellers (some of our group have bought them), there are normal goods for sale.
We have eaten in a couple of restaurants and have had food other than kebabs, which seems to be the staple diet here. It is great to see families out picnicking every night, it gives a great feeling of happiness in the air.
We even got to see a Christian church, which we thought would not exist in this country any longer, this was in the Armenian quarter of the city.
Tomorrow we move on towards Persepolis and then to the border with Pakistan, so we will not expect to be able to update this for a couple of weeks.

Lynda Murray You are certainly seeing a different side of life in your travels so far. It must be so heartening to realise that most people are just like us, living their lives, enjoying their families and getting on with things. Take care and I look forward to the next update as and when.
