My bikes last owner seems like he took great care of it but as I need to get the tyres changed anyway I drop her off for a decent service (valve clearances, timing chain etc). Kevin and I jump on some bikes and spend the afternoon in old Montreal. The jazz festival is on and we check out a couple of acts.

Drove back to Montreal. Kevin had just arrived back from Turkey. That evening we take Bixi bikes (bike share) and head to the Plateau. We drop in to see one of Kevin's friends at his gourmet butchers shop and he invites us for dinner at his beautiful house next door. He is planning a trip to Cambodia and Laos with his girlfriend and we spend the evening chatting about what to visit and sampling some great meats and beer from his shop.

It's time to leave the fishing lodge mid morning and I jump in the back of an off road buggy with two of Emily's sisters and her brother for the ride back to Emily's parents. That afternoon we visit Emily's grandmother again and she prepares an amazing lunch for us including a blueberry, maple syrup ice cream and sponge desert.

How to spend a long weekend. Quad into the forest loaded up with fishing gear, an outboard, 3 blokes and a healthy supply of beer. We spend most of the day putting around the lake shore and pulling trout. By mid-afternoon we have a good number of fish and decide to head back to the lodge. Our convoy of 4x4's, dirt bikes, ATV's and off-road buggy is packed up and set to depart by midmorning. Arriving at la-dore we quickly find space in a cabin with Katy and her boyfriend which has established the rule of no kids and no dogs. With camp sorted we head off in two 4x4's to find a lake and get some fishing and drinking done.
