Marty's Trips
45 days after leaving Toronto and having ridden almost 10,000km, today I completed my journey to the east of Canada. Cape Spear, the most easterly point in North America. Parking the bike and walking the last few hundred meters it was a surprisingly emotional moment. A sign at lands end provided further reflection asking; where to from here?
Yesterday's rain made way for a beautifully sunny day and keeping to the adage of making hay while the sun shines, I head up to signal hill at the mouth of the St. John's bay. Ladies lookout is the highest point on the hill and affords great views both over the city and out to sea. The later is the cause of its namesake as women would come here in hope of spotting ships carrying home their loved ones.
