Our flight from Brissy went smooth. cant believe l freaked about about carry on luggage and being over weight. They didn't even check. Anyway, we got back around 4pm and caught a taxi back to Levi Park caravan park. $35 later we had arrived back and we all felt a little tired. We booked in for another four nights to try and recoup a little. It was good to back to the van again, in our own space and not living out of a bag. We parked the van on the site next to the Woodies, which the girls were very thrilled with.
We didn't do too much over the next couple of days. We caught up with Amanda and Mark, they seem to be going well in Adelaide. The kids loved playing together, although on Friday, Boo did miss Charlotte a little. Amanda took both Meg and Boo with her to walk the kids to school. Boo was very excited about the school thing as she can't wait to go to 'normal' school when we get to WA. Anyway, Boo didn't have to to miss Charlotte too much as we got started with her school work. Her attitude was little to be desired and hope that this isn't going to be the way the years going to go.
On the Saturfay, Marty continued with doing some moreodifications to the van. This time putting some shelves in the girls cupboards. They came up a treat, great having a handy husband. Whilst Marty took care of that l endeavoured to do copious loads of washing!! It took forever, l reckon about four hours! Sometimes l wonder why l try to save a buck and don't just throw them in the parks washing machines. Hate being a tight arse sometimes!!! It probably serves me right when l decide to do clothes, all the sheets and the rugs all in one go.... After lunch, everyone besides Marty headed off on a bike ride. It's a great little track behind the caravan park that goes all the way into Adelaide city. We didn't go that far, we just went to this awesome playground. After the kids had slowly ridden up and down the hills, Meg and Jake actually walking up them half the time, they were rewarded with a cool playground. There was this huge, tall, metal slide that the kids went down and ended up flat on their bumbs at the bottom of it. Meg and Boo flew down so fast, they ended up flat on their face, bark flying up everywhere! After a while the kids got either hot or bored, so we headed off. As l was going down yet another hill, l braked and Charlotte Woods asks me "where's your horn on your bike?" Totally funny, obviously the bike brakes need a grease! We arrived at this long swinging bridge, which we know Amanda loves (not)! We all walked across, jumping and trying to swing it. Kids had a ball!!
On Sunday, l headed off in the morning and did C25K. So proud of myself for keeping up the motivation. Was really scared when l started as l could hardly breath, almost hyperventilating after 30secs of running. So after three weeks l am already feeling the effects, my breathing is getting more rhythmic and l can run for longer. It's also been a great way to start the day and clear my head. After my run, we all went for a hit if tennis. Marty and l played doubles against Amanda and Mark. It was so much fun, we laughed so hard. Was good to do something different other than sitting around chatting. The kids were a little annoying in that they wanted to come and play, not happy with the several outdoor games they had brought along! I am proud to say that we flogged Amanda and Mark, 6-2!! After our little activity session in he morning and a delicious savoury scrambled egg dish for lunch we went out for the arvo for a drive. We went to Hahrndorf, a gorgeous little town in the Adelaide hills. It reminded me of the town Bright back in Vic as we drove in, huge trees lining the road and old historical buildings and shops in town. It was pretty busy, obviously a great way to spend a Sunday if you live local. It's a town with German Heritage and there were men dressed up in traditional German costume playing accordions and banjos in the street. We took a walk around looking at these amazing little stores, a lot of arts/crafts and food orientated. We ended up succumbing to the temptation and having an ice cream, totally worth it too, delicious. Glad l went for the run today!! Mark opted for a taste testing at a local brewery, which for those that know Mark, it's a no brainer! Beer before ice cream always! Next stop was a chocolate factory called Melas. We were all like kids in a lolly shop hunting around for the freebies that were placed in containers around the store, again glad l went for the run this morning! We watched the guy breaking what we thought was chocolate, when he gave us a taste and we found that it was hard licorice. Delicious. We treated the kids to a $2.00 animal shaped chocolate, yes were big spenders! Last stop on the arvo drive was the Big Rocking Horse. It was huge, made pit of sheet metal and replicating a smaller rocking horse next to it. The kids ran out if the car and were heading to climb it when we had to suddenly stop them as you have to pay to climb! What a bloody rip off, nothing for free these days. The kids got over it quickly when we headed over to the nearby wooden toy shop. The men were like big kids, playing with all the toys. Amanda and l got sick of looking so went out and sat outside. We ended up having to go back in after 20 mins to get everyone to leave, especially the men!
All in all we had a great day. Was so good to do something fun with the Woods again, most times when we see each other were on work stops. We had a wonderful time and, as always, great laughs! Tomorrow we plan to pack up and head off to Rapid Bay on the SA coast near Victor Harbor. We've heard good things about this spot so were very excited. We just have to wait around in the morning to go and pick up a new kindle. It shat itself somewhere between the plane ride home and the caravan park. Marty's been pointing out that this would be my 3rd kindle in twelve months!!! Oops...
