Just a quick entry tonight as back in Phuket for 1 night before heading for Ko Samui. Yesterday was another wash out on Phi Phi island. We thought we'd take a break from Thai food and went to this Aussie all you can eat barbecue place. It was delicious. We then walked around, got wet again and went back to the hotel.

I'm reading the news whilst updating this and I'm shocked to see that a plane has crashed in heavy rain landing in Phuket this evening (from Bangkok) killing at least 66 people and the bodies are being laid out at the airport. It's hard to believe we landed at that very same airport just 3 days ago and I'm in Phuket now. I imagine that most killed or injured are tourists like us - shocking.

Anyway, it rained so heavily last night I was woken up at least 4 times with the noise on the window. We think we have heavy rain in the UK, it's nothing to here.

We got up this morning and still raining heavily so we decided to leave the island on the 2.30pm boat. The rain was torrential and the sea was much rougher than last time. In short it was a horrendous trip and I just couldn't wait to get to Phuket. I'll post some video that I took at some point and you'll see what I mean. Loads of people were thowing up and mine and Harnaik's stomachs were on the edge. Tomorrow we catch another boat from Phuket and then a coach and then another boat to Samui. I'm just hoping that it's a little smoother.

Arrived in Phuket and surprise surprise - more rain! and it's still raining heavily 3 hours later. It's like the summer we had in the UK this year with a tropical feel to it. The mosquitos are also feeding on us.
