Day 36. Cascade (Colorado Springs), Colorado.Travelled 200 miles north-east today to Colorado Springs, via the 160 and I25. Then joined the 165 through the mountains, which was a great, twisty motorcycling road. The scenery here was more alpine than the arid Spanish-like mountains of New Mexico. Day 34. Santa Fe, New Mexico.Decided to stay in Santa Fe an extra day and visit Bandelier National Monument. This is a deep canyon, located about 30 miles from Santa Fe, made from soft volcanic rock called Tuff. Day 33. Santa Fe, New Mexico.Spent the day in Santa Fe today. Visited the farmers market and shops this morning. Santa Fe is a very vibrant place with a large artist community and some very historical looking adobe buildings (made from earth and straw, and often a bright red colour).
