koh lanta

the most amazing approach to the island. so beautiful couldnt capture it with my photographic skills.

19 hour trip from koh tao. overnight ferry: 100 people jammed in on the floor of a rickety ferry for 9 hours. the amount of mosquitos on that boat its a surprise we werent all dead. Waited for another 2 hours for the next bus, which shouldd take 2 hours to the next stop, only to be told i would be on the second bus. second bus my ass! got shoved on the public bus which stopped for every tom and harold at he side of the road waiving their arms or a box of chickens. Then arrived at destination to get another "express bus".....haha. taxi took me to wrong sifde of town and left me with a bunch of locals that didnt know a word of english. finally got put on the back of a motor bike to get to the right place. the guys driving was alright considering he had my luggage on the handlebars....ROPEY to say the least.! anyway, arrived in lanta late afternoon to stay at the funky fish. nice place and had a nice bar next door. Met up with a dutch guy called Goran. He was a bit of a hippy and on the way to india to do a yoga retreat for three months. decent guy.

Sunsets on lanta were stunning.! scenery beautiful. island was a bit quiet though and mostly families and old people there.

Little did i know i would wish i had stayed there for another 2 days......
