Spent most of the day in the hammock waiting to get a night bus to Morocoy at 8pm. This however was useful time sorting through 700 pictures I took of Angel Falls.
Down at the bus station we dumped into Liz and partner. They are a couple of Americans that we met on the flight to Canaima. They told us that the Caribean coast that we were heading to was badly flooded. There was not a lot we could do at this stage without losing our ticket money so we hoped that the area we were going to would be OK.
Despite not knowing them very long (approx 100 minutes) and not sure of their names it was a hug fairwell as they got on their bus and we got on ours. We also had hug fairwells last night from the place we tended to eat (I must be a real dude).
The bus was a surprise it had A/C that was not set to absolute freezing - typical this time we packed warm clothes into our daybags. The long distance buses are really comfortable, nice reclining seats, a toilet and luckily films in English. The only downside was that you could smell the toilets some of the time.
I put on my headphones and settled into the journey at the front of the top floor of the double decker. Downstairs sounded like they were having a rave going by the thumping techno music. It later transpired that it was the driver that had the music on in his doored cabin - he won't be falling asleep then.
The journey was uneventful we got into Morocoy on time early the next day. We seemed to have slept better here than in the hot and sticky Cuidad Bolivar that we left.
