We were due to set off back today, Alan however gutted at the poor lightening offered the option of staying another day.
Today was more promising blue sky started to appear an important factor for getting the temperature on the lake up. Alan lives and breaves electric storms, his house is the best place for these storms and when he isn't taking tourists out is going out himself to observe and photograph. He has an impressive collection of lightening photos that he even sells to National Geographic.
We owent out deeper up river into the jungle to try and catch the Morphus butterfly that Alan first discovered. There was plenty of them but as they fly high very difficult to catch. Alan also wet his pants when a very rare duck flew overhead, but the vivid red cookoos were more interesting for us.
Staying another night meant that we had to be careful with fuel. We went back to the house for a swim/wash and a siesta in the hammock.
The sky was almost clear by late afternoon. The light for photography was excellent so we headed into Olga for some photography. By this time I had taken a ridiculous amout of pictures and as a result my camera batteries were running out.
The evening we had a look for the native glass frogs. Saw them plus a snake and a hugh jungle cockroach, a bit prettier than the usual cockroaches but still a cockroach.
The lightening did come but didn't intensify.
