Another day and another national park. This was Capitol National Park, that changed around every corner. Some parts looked like the moon and other areas highly erroded red mountains. Transition areas gave the place a sureal look and feel.
From here we followed highway 95 to Lake Powell a National recreation area (blog picture). From the road you got excellent 360 degree views of the landscape and the lake below.
The next place in the way was Natural Bridges National Monument. As the name suggests this was natural rock bridges formed by water errosion. Further north is the Arches National Park if you did not get your fill here.
America and especially Utah has been a pleasant surprise. The biggest surprise is how fast the scenery changes, especially when you consider the size of the country. The scenery is pretty amazing and there is a lot to do if you could afford to find it.
Tomorrow we will be visiting Monument Valley (yet another national park).
