Zion has been hyped by the Americans and it didn't dissapoint. It is one of the few places that Americans are forced to leave their monster cars in car parks and use a free shuttle to get around. We were going to stay at the camp site another day to rest from all the driving, however an indignent Liz having just found out you have to pay for a shower had other ideas. We set off towards a place within stricking distance of the Grand Canyon north rim, namely Kanab. As usual we were looking for the cheapest place to stay and came upon Waynes World. Before we had put our stuff in the room we were drinking Arizona Budwiser with mad Wayne.

Another day and another national park. This was Capitol National Park, that changed around every corner. Some parts looked like the moon and other areas highly erroded red mountains. Little did we know that we crossed a time zone travelling east, the impact was to miss the free coffee and set off late for Bryce Canyon. On the way to Bryce we went through Red Canyon that was very photogenic and amazingly red. Before we set off from Tonopah we had a look at the old cemetry by the motel. It holds the early settlers in this area that died from the plague, mining accidents and other various grim ends. Most of the graves are made from whatever lay around. One grave was a section of railroad with "end of the line" inscribed in it, others were just scraps of wood made into a cross.
