Travelled south towards Monument Valley on the border with Arizona. As you can see from the blog picture this is what people expect Arizona to look like as it is used in countless western films. For me it was a bit of fun trying to get the car down a dirt track without falling down a hole or getting bogged down in the sand.
This is Indian country but luckily they have given up the bows and arrows, instead they are into jewellery and pray on Liz's.
The only place you can stay is Page if you can find anywhere not booked up. We were forced to stay at a camp site, this was not too bad as it had a nice view of Lake Powell and was only at 4000ft so was warm at night.
We were bored of staying in (have not been out since San Francisco) so we headed out to pizza hut. After that experience we needed a drink to settle the nerves.
