We spent 36 hours on a sweaty bus from Townsville to Darwin driving 2700km through the outback! Passed through some pretty quiet places and stopped for one night at Mt Isa. Magnetic Island is mostly National Park with more Koalas than you can shake an ecalyptus stick at haha! We qualified as scuba divers over a 4 day course with 6 dives in Nelly Bay and did a 4 hour fishing trip where we caught a remora fish (threw it back) and one other guy nearly landed a massive yellow fin tuna but it broke the line at the last minute. After catching a ride up from Fraser Island with a couple we met we all set sail on the Habibi. 24 people plus 3 crew for 2 nights on a cosy sailing ship!
