29th - 3rd May Mussorie.
Another breather from the incredible heat now in the cities. A hill station which sits at 2992mtrs so nice cool nights windows open and able to sleep. sounds like heaven it sure was!!!
Until I awake at 05:30 to the noise of a carrier bag rusttling, as I put on the light a Monkey brings his head out of the bag bearing his teeth and looking very agressive.. Mark is still in sleep land until I awake him shouting "monkey monkey" by which time he is flying out of bed and attacking the monkey. The monkey heads out of the window from which he came snarling and spitting..
We enjoy a beer with local english guy who now lives here with his wife and 2 children. We set off onto the local trails with Ollie and his dog Shiva. We explore local area we would never have found on our own.. Many old colonial houses neglected over the years but you can still feel the granduar of the life style which once the homes experienced.. Hot tired after some great walking we enjoy Fern Curry & rice with Ollie and his wife Laxmi.. and their 2 babies..
We took off on a tour of the area with Lisa from NZ.. our first stop Kempsy Falls. These falls actually had enough water falling to be quite impressive.. Mark first in is telling us how cold it is.. mmh nice to know thanks!! Next my turn I sit at the side plucking up courage and whoosh Im in and under. The guys are on the attack again with much laughter from them as well as Mark & Lisa Thanks guys for your help!!!!
Next stop takes us to Municipal Park for lunch and onto Mussoorie Lake, Well its very hard for me NOT to be rude here we find a man made lake with 3 or 4 swan type pedlo's , The hoilday makers are enjoying themselves.. Enough said on this one!!!
I enjoy a days horse riding in the mountains. visiting tiny hill side villages we enjoy chai and smoke with the locals.. My horse is very young and very skitsy!! when we get into galloping mode he is dam hard to stop...and to instruct in which we way we should be going... riding here ia very different with the well schooled horses I am used to back home...
