Sunday 13th Jan. Nice to get into the mountains away from the tourist bit. The ride up to Munnar was very beautiful across the Western Ghats. We were lucky enough to get a ride with the chap from our homestay (Cant remember his name couldnt spell it anyway.) We stopped off at his brothers T shop which seemed to please the local kids. especially the girls. They would peep around the corner laugh and runaway not surprising I hear you say!!!
We were taken directly to another homestay I like this bit. Its a great way to live and eat with a normal indian family.. Sometimes the language barrier is a problem but we normally find our way around it..
Our first day we have hired a guide to take us trekking through the T plantation to a very small waterfall which we would never have found on our own. We stopped here to enjoy some cool water and have lunch. Unfortunatley I am still unable to get my feet wet, so had to make do with a splash!!
The accomadation cost us rs800 per night which was quite expensive. However we did enjoy Masala Dosa and coffee for just rs38. only stopping here for 2 days next stop Kodai Kanal Tamil Nadu
