25th 29th February Junagadh

Travelling over night bus from Nasik through to Ahmedabad Gujarat. We have to stay over night in Ahmedabad much to the pity, A very dirty place not a good start of visiting Gujarat..

Anyway away on the bus to Junagadh, much nicer city but still only the gateway to Sassan Gir which was our destination. However whilst we are here we might as well visit the temple on top of Girnar hill 100,00 steps to the top . We start very early to beat the sun starting @ 05:00 hrs its still dark as we start to climb we get the advantage of seeing day break and beating the local hawkers who are still tucked up in their blankets on the hillside.. amazing how these people exist up here..

We take a rest halfway for chai and breakfast dawn has just awoken..!!! We enjoy the break. I am silly enough to ask where I might find the toilet silly me I am shown the other side of the hillside where your bum enjoys the morning breeze mmhhh!!! Its India!!!

We make it to the top (3hrs) where it shoes off time, we enjoy our morning Puja (blessing) and start our descent. Many crowds have started the climb so happy we started early.. On the finish we enjoy thali lunch in a local cafe and get first class treatment . 2 men are pushed off of their table so we can sit

We will always remember this climb as we completed it on 29th Feb and NO I DIDNT propose to him again !!! luv him really!!
