October 2007 Belcaire, French Pyrenees

We have just spent 3 amazing weeks with great friends in Belcaire. Carole & Guiness live in a tiny village with 2 beautiful collie dogs Cheech & Chong just outside of Carcasoine.. When they moved in over 7 years ago they were the only english speaking people in the village. There are now several.

We had many days trekking in the local mountains (see the photo's) Carole was a brilliant guide carrying water for her dogs and lunch for us, after 3-5 hours of glorious views we would return home to find Guiness had made us hot Vin Chaud which left mark enjoying his starfish inpersonation. ( u had to b there!!!)..

Many of our walks took us along historic routes where Cathare's had walked from one Chataeu to another normally to their enimies back in the 14th Century..

Lucky for me the local bar had sky tv and were big rugby fans, We enjoyed an evening and many glasses of Richard. Faces painted in red & white we enjoyed The semi finals, where we beat FRANCE & fianls when we lost aginst SA...

Much Drinking, many late nights, many late mornings was all on the menu for a fabulous time..
