We were up very very very early...an hour too early thanks to Mark not changing the time on his phone!! hmmm!
We had another lovely breakfast before been collected by our tour guide. We were off to visit the Cu Chi tunnels from the war. He was a lovely guide who was 71 and very amusing! It was about a 2 hour drive so we made up on lost sleep! He took us around the area which is set up like it would have been in the war. We saw all sorts, including secret tunnel entrances, hospitals, traps, rice paper being made, uniforms and bomb craters! There was a shooting range where Mark went shooting with an AK47! We got to go in one of the tunnels from the war! It was tiny and very claustrophobic! Most people had to go through on their hands and knees, but I could just bend down and walk! A couple of minutes in them were bad enough, let along the amount of time that the soldiers would have spent in them! After watching a film about what it would have been like back in the day, we were taken back to town.
We had chance to make plans for the next few weeks and decided to stay an extra night in Vietnam! After dinner we went mooching again but ended up getting lost without a map! After a lot of walking we found ourselves back on familiar ground! We could have asked for directions but we couldn't remember the name of our road! Oops! We then mooched just along our street in case!!
