Hey guys, sorry it's been so long! Have been busy exploring, travelling and the hostels we've been in haven't had free Internet! We were spoilt in our first hostel!

On Sunday we got up early to make our way to the Niagara Falls. We got the coach there and it seemed to take hardly any time at all! Got to see lots of other towns..proper ones that weren't commercialised. Was also the first chance to carry my rucksack properly as the distance to the first hostel was only one block from the bus! Managed it ok..even with my newly repaired strap..not sure if I explained that in the last message? It got damaged in the washing machine..but its fine now and should hold! We managed to get a city bus to the hostel and dumped our stuff before heading off to find the falls! We were both speechless when we saw them, they are amazing!! So natural and untouched..well mostly! Shame about the touristy bit near it..ruins it a bit..seemed more like a fairground! Hmmm! Anyway we had lunch while watching the falls, was very hot n very busy! We walked the path to the horseshoe falls, managing to get soaked from the spray in the process..which was actually quite refreshing in the heat! We then discovered 'the journey behind the falls' and decided we had to do it..so bought tickets and waited! We walked along the white water walk..very impressive walk and you can see the river and its natural beauty. The Journey behind the falls was brill!!! You get taken down in a lift into the cliffs beside the falls and there are 2 look out tunnels from behind the falls which are incredible..and then you can go out onto a platform which is only metres away from the falls. We got soaked from head to toe..but it was definitely worth it!! The view was amazing and you could really appreciate the volume of water that falls each second! The photos we've taken really don't do it justice..

In the evening we headed back down to the falls to see the light show on the falls. This was pretty cool..however the fireworks that were supposed to accompany it were cancelled..little disappointed but hey! We would have had pictures however our camera decided that it wouldn't work which was quite concerning..hoped it was the battery but soon realised it wasn't when we changed batteries. We decided that it must have got wet from the spray from the falls so left it to dry over night..and luckily it did the trick!

We met a lovely couple in our dorm, they were from Calgary which is where we're heading! They were doing a tour of East Canada..sadly no offer of a bed to stay in while we're there!! I slept well..considering how wobbly my bed was!! I was on the top bunk..again..and was surprised to wake up in the am still there..expected to be on the floor! Scary stuff!

Monday - Got up early again..getting the hang of this..even Mark is!! While getting ready..we could hear the falls from the hostel! Filled up on the free breakie..freshly baked blueberry muffins, doughnuts and fruit n yogurt! Yum! Headed straight for the falls again! We went on the maid of the mist boat this time which took you through the mist of both falls..again ended up soaked but the view was out of this world! We decided against using the camera to close...just in case! Mark's decided that it was even better than the journey behind the falls..I'm still undecided..

We then took the long (1 hour) walk to the worlds largest whirlpool...it was impressive but a bit of an anticlimax after the falls!! The walk there was alongside the river..which changed considerably at different points! Mark loved the fast flowing water..and was eager to get down beside it..I discouraged him luckily!! Some parts were so still in comparison..but all so bootiful!

Managed to get some proper food on way back to the falls...about blimin time! We had an hour or so to spare so we chilled in the sun watching the falls before making our journey back to Toronto for the night. We both loved the falls, was a nice break from the city life...and Dad..I think I would quite like the falls in the garden please...flowing into the pond perhaps?! OR...a similar pressure of the falls for the shower?!!
