Had an early morning trip today pick up at Pershing Square at 6.45. Our tour guide Michael explained our route through the mad NY traffic under the Lincoln Tunnel out toward Philadelphia and on to the birth place of America. We went to Philadelphia the home of brotherly love to see where the beginning of America started. We saw Liberty bell, then went to Constitution hall where we saw the two houses, the house of the representatives and the senate upstairs. All the chairs in the senate were the original ones.
We then saw some of the original copies of A constitution,it was only changed to The constitution once New York had signed which was some time after the others.
Our tour guide was very excited and told us all about the meaning of the words , all men being created equal under God and everyone had equal rights.
Adam did ask how they could qualify this with the abhorrent act of slavery still being a part of every day life for some of the founding fathers.
Then we set off for Lancaster County the home of the Amish. This was the main part of the tour as far as we were concerned.
