Then we set off for Lancaster County the home of the Amish. This was the main part of the tour as far as we were concerned.
When we arrived we were met by Thomas who was to be our buggy driver. We were really lucky to be in the very front. We were able to have a really good chat with Thomas. He had 5 children the eldest that now ran the farm he had retired and did the buggy rides for fun. One of his sons is no longer Amish but he still lived on the farm and is not shunned as Thomas said family is far too important. He talked a lot about his life and family which was amazing. He took us past fields of peaches, apples and plums. We bought some peaches and some freshly made cookies. The peaches were unbelievable just picked fresh and juicy. Then we were taken to an Amish market place which although was great meant we did not get to go the Farm
House.
A fantastic day we had a good journey back slept for most of it then watched a film.
