Hello from Byron Bay!

So I spent another very very quiet day in Coffs Harbour. I wonder where all the tourists and backpackers are. I have my dorm to myself now so I haven't really met anyone which is a bit disappointing. I did go to the kitchen but there was noone there and the bar was only filled with locals, who I must say were very friendly but talking to men in their 50's is not the purpose of the trip.

Anyway this morning I jumped on the bus and 5 hours later arrived in Byron Bay, still in NSW. The weather is gorgeous and Byron seems like a livelier place so hopefully I will make some new friends. I have been to the beach again today and done a little bit of shopping. Byron is very chilled out, completely lazy days although I must say I do miss Sydney where you can choose liveliness or lazy.

There seems so be a few girls in my dorm but I didn't see them, hopefully there will be someone around when I get back............I don't fancy spending another night by myself.

In all honesty I had forgotten how lonely backpacking can be. It seems that most people backpacking in Oz are in groups and very clicky. Very different to Asia where backpackers are keen to meet new people.........ah well I've survived Madagascar and Cambodia a short jaunt up the east coast should be alright!
