We've had a very busy and fun last couple of days! As I mentioned in the previous post, after Budapest we took a 3 hour bus ride to Bratislava, Slovakia. We wanted to come here becuase of it's close proximity to Vienna, Austria, and thought it would be a bit cheaper as well.
The hostel that we stayed at, Hostel Blues, was amazing (except for the two incredibly loud snorers from Brazil in our dorm!). Centrally located, cool lounge area, and a bar on the first floor. After they gave us our maps, we were off.
Bratislava shares a lot of similarities to other cities we've been to recently, other than that there aren't many people! It's very quaint and quiet, and we only saw two other tourists out and about. After wandering their maze of downtown streets, we hiked up the hill to Bratislava Castle. There wasn't a single soul up there! The view of the city from above was also nice, but masked by the ever-present gray winter clouds. I wish this was my picture of the castle, it looks so much warmer!
Kenny was in great spirits all afternoon- he finally found a hat and gloves that he liked, as well as a sports bar... that had the Packer game on! He was totally in his element, and I had fun watching that game as well.
Even though we didn't spend much time in Bratislava, we got a good feel for the city, and since it's small, we were able to see all the sights and still be able to relax a bit.
From there, we caught a fast train to Vienna, city of music!
