We have put some miles under our belts today but have also seen some good things. Our first stop was Long Beach trail for a 1 hour rainforest walk that finished on the beach. From here we went to for Lunch in the park in Port Alberni and followed this up with a visit to some of the biggest and oldest trees in Canada some over 90 metres tall!!! We sped on across the island and went to Coombs to see the goats that live on top of a supermarket roof, totally touristy and tacky but there you go!! We made a quick stop at Old Chemainus to look at the murals painted around the town to draw in tourists after the depression of the late 1980's before moving onto Victoria, the capital of British Columbia, but much smaller than Vancouver. Tonght will be the first night that we have separate rooms as the hostel is still living in the 1950's and only has single sex rooms. We have the day to explore tomorrow before heading back to Vancouver late evening. Bye for now M & M xx
