Oh my God, I have yet another new favorite spot. Versailles is AMAZING!! It was a royal palace from the 1600s and is now an amazing museum. The building itself is massive, and touring through it makes you feel so small. Even more impressive were the gardens outside the palace. I could spend an entire day out in the gardens and not explore every corner. There were so many big mazes and separate groves, and it's all so taken care of. I can't imagine living so close to Versailles and getting to just casually go for a run through those gardens. That's the dream right there. We got to tour around Marie Antoinette's areas on the land (also super impressive), and drove around the property a bit. It was so beautiful. I can't wait to go back.
I forgot to mention yesterday, but Marlene has been sick since yesterday and unable to participate in a lot of things. Yesterday she missed both tours we did in Paris, and today she missed all of Versailles.
We went for dinner at a restaurant down the block from our hotel. I'm pretty sure I've gained 300 pounds since getting to Europe, so I've quit eating all the free bread we get here (which is so sad, it's freaking Europe! Do you know how good the bread is here?!), and ordering appies for dinner, and skipping dessert. It makes me sad, but avoiding obesity is my priority these days.
