We set ourselves up for the day with a little breakfast then literally got waved off by the lovely Mark from the lounge. It was just a short stroll to the train station, and even with 3 suitcases it was an easy journey.

The next train to Nerang was about to leave when we got there, so we rushed to the platform and we were off on our journey to Surfers Paradise. The train only takes about 1 hour 30 mins and was a pleasant trip.

On arrival at our hotel, which is lovely, we were upgraded again to exec level but our room wasn't ready so we headed out for a walk around. Anyone who has been to Surfers Paradise will know, this place is a bit tacky and very touristy/beachy, very different to Singapore and Brisbane. We kinda knew what to expect, but we were a bit shocked to see the main pool area was very much like a zoo- with kids running around everywhere! How dare they. Hopefully we will find a quiet spot tomorrow?! Who knows. We had a nice walk along the beach, loads of surfers, kite surfers etc.

Back to the hotel for a shower then off to the lounge we go. Lounge was massive compared to the other one's we had been too, again a lot different as there was more families than in the others. Plenty of food and drink choice though and all self service, never a good thing sometimes though! Intention had been not to stay too long and actually go and get a meal for once, well half eight rolled around and we still hadn't left so we topped up or glasses before the drink was taken away and finally left about 9. By this time the place we had intended to eat had closed, we walked in and quickly out of another before settling on a bar. After Andrew went to the bar and came back with a beer and a shot of Patron we quickly forgot about food, live band and a few hours dancing later it was a late end.
