Day 118 - Chiang Mai - Bangkok
Up early again this morning, we're heading back to Bangkok today for our last few days of the trip and have to pack etc and we have both planned to get a tattoo done (naughty naughty). We head down for brekkie and then back up stairs to pack, Si started feeling a bit ill so when the guy came to pick us up for our tattoo's I went and Si stayed at the hostel hoping to be feeling a bit better by the time i'd finished having mine done.
I have decided on a buddhist mantra in script on my wrist, I get to the tattoo studio and the guy has already made the stencil the perfect size for my wrist and we get straight to work! The first 10 minutes hurt quite a bit but I got used to it then and Win the guy that was tattooing me was such a perfectionist so very impressed with the outcome. All finished within about 40 minutes and he takes me and drops me back at the hostel so we can see if Si is feeling any better. Unfortunately he's burning up with a temperature which is that last thing you want is over 30 degrees heat so he has to pass and we'll have to find somewhere in Bangkok for him when he's feeling better.
We get a few cold drinks down Si to try and bring the temp down and then head out for a pharmacy to get my nappy rash cream for the tattoo, Win kindly wrote it in Thai as well in case the person in the pharmacy couldn't understand me ... came in very handy! As we were walking back towards the hostel I think I must have had a bit of what Si has as my temperature shot up within the space of about 5 minutes and we had to find somewhere for me to sit down and waited until I was feeling back to normal and then carried on back to the hostel for some dinner and to collect our bags to make our way to the airport.
We squeezed in a tuk tuk to the airport, got ourselves checked in and again made use of the free Bangkok Airways lounge to snack away and use the wifi until it was time to board our flight. Our flight was slightly delayed but when we were arriving in Bangkok we could see why, there was a massive thunder storm over Bangkok, the lightening was lighting up the entire sky it looked well cool! Anyway we jumped in a taxi and got taken to the hotel (the same one that we stayed in last time in Bangkok) and got ourselves checked in and they've kindly put us in the same room as last time :)
Shattered from tattoo's and travelling I fell asleep quite early and Si stayed up and watched Manchester United beat Wolves. He says that Chicharito is becoming a bit of a legend already always scoring.
