Our Friday night in Georgetown was spent at the Esplanade where they were having a celebration for the last night of the Chinese New Year festivities which also coincided with Valentines Day. Our journey to Georgetown on the Malaysian island of Penang wasn't too bad. We left our guesthouse in Malacca at 8 am on Thursday morning and caught the bus to the central bus station. After waiting for around an hour our bus finally turned up about 10 minutes late and we jumped on to a better bus than we had expected.
