Yesterday we went to visit the vineyards and wineries for which the Mendoza area is famous. We could have went on an organised tour but instead we decided to go with three other people from our hostel, Gareth and Jared from New Zealand and Kye from the US. Our first full day in Mendoza (Sunday) was spent at Parque General San Martin on the outskirts of the city. We assembled a picnic and headed for the park in the hope that the weather would stay good for a nice, relaxing day. So today (Saturday) we have arrived in Mendoza which is in the wine making region of Argentina. We travelled here by bus from Buenos Aires which took about 14 hours. This sounds pretty bad but the buses over here are good and quite comfortable so the time tends to go a bit quicker than you would imagine.
