The past few days in Puerto Iguazu have been really good. Yesterday, we visited the Argentinian side of Iguasu falls. The weather was pretty average but the falls themselves were fantastic. Obviously we have taken loads of photos but these can't really do justice to how massive the falls are and the number of huge waterfalls. There is a constant mist over the whole area and you can always hear the rumble of water falling wherever you are. One grumble would be that as a non-Argentinian you have to pay more to get in. It cost us about £20 each whilst if we were Argentinian it would have cost about £5 each. We thought about pretending to be Argentinian but we would have had to pretend to be mute given our total lack of Spanish!! It was still worth it and would definitely recommend visiting if possible.
We once again cooked our tea in the kitchen hostel. I have I say that this was by far the most successful attempt yet. Compliments to the chef (Beth)!!!
Beth did get offered some condoms from some random Argentinian guy in the supermarket. He didn't offer me any but I'm guessing that she just looks like that kind of girl!!!!
Today, we have visited Tres Las Fronteras which is basically an area where you can see Argentina, Paraguay and Brazil. Each has a monument to mark the viewing spot across the iguazu and Paranas rivers. It was pretty good, especially since the weather is much better and there is hardly a cloud in the sky.
We are currently sitting by the hostel pool trying to catch a few rays and trying to get rid of our pasty white complexions. I am releasing some of the purse strings so that we can go out for tea tonight as it looks like there are a few nice restaurants in town.
Tomorrow we head to Buenos Aires which consists of a 17 hour bus journey leaving at 2 o clock. Beth even said she is looking forward to this due to the first class bus we have booked. I'm not sure she will be saying the same when we are five hours into the journey.
Anyways, we re looking forward to Buenos Aires as the apartment we have booked looks great and it will be good to explore another city. The downside is that Boca don't play at home this weekend so I won't be able to go to one of their matches. River Plate do though so we may try and get there if it isn't too far out of the city.
Adios!!
