We were off to Greece in the summer of 2022. Alex was unwell the Friday before and still not great the Saturday so we were on the phone all day trying to get him seen. 111 had been hacked so all their systems were playing up. In the end he was seen at half 8 that night and got antibiotics for what looked like an ear infection, it was a late night 9.10. Awake at 3.40 and left 4.25, got to Heathrow 4.50 car parking hadn't picked up time change as we moved it earlier as my boarding pass said married name but passport in maiden name. I had updated my BA account when I got my AMEX card last year. Checked in fine with the name mix up with my marriage certificate to prove it. Security didn't have much of a queue but was really slow checking our pouches and water. We then went and got medicine and water and went to the lounge at the end of the airport, there were 2. We stayed by the play room which had a big airplane and toys that kept them busy. They enjoyed cocoa pops and croissants. We had bacon rolls and took some mini cokes and crisps for the trip along with cokes. I sat with Thomas but we switched quite a lot as were sat opposite each other in business class. They served english breakfast and cheeses as the options so we tucked in (apart from Alex, who had snacks and pouches). When we arrived the taxi was a little late and Rich found a man from the same company who called him for us and introduced him. We fell asleep (all bar Rich) and it was roasting hot. Big group in front of us so we waited a little while to check in which was hard with two tired and hot kids. Under the restaurant floor there was a glass bottom with water with turtles and fish which the boys enjoyed looking at the sea life. We checked in and did some basic unpacking (we had a room with two single beds and a room with a double bed and cot in and bathroom and basic cupboard and fridge. We then went to the pool for a bit. It wasn't as good as our last holiday, it had 2 bigger and deeper pools with a water fall feature. A kids pool with a park climbing frame in the water, see saws and other various water features. But the food was much better for half board. We then went dinner at 7, Alex wouldn't eat much and was really emotional. I put the boys down and stayed in the double bed with Thomas, Alex in the cot. Alex asleep quickly and Thomas at 9. Both fidgety all night and Alex stirring crying, both over tired. I woke as the air con was 23 and felt really cold at times.
Monday awake around 6.30 and Rich and Thomas went shops to look for water but they were shut and they found the beach. We got ready and headed out. I picked my shorts off the floor and this massive hairy spider crawled out. Rich managed to get him into the garden which probably would be death of it in the hot sun. Breakfast we had cereal and fried potatoes and beans. The boys tried their croissants and cereals but they weren't the nicest, they tolerated some chocolate style cereal. We then went to the shops got water and a 1.70 ball and two water guns (these were like foam pumps once we saw on our last holiday). Went to the pool which was quiet as we were first there at 9.15. A little boy had the same Spiderman costume and I thought maybe they could play together but they were both shy. We went to the big pool down the bottom which had a waterfall from the top pool and a bridge over the top and bottom pools. We went lunch around 12 and got toasted sarnies and chips. I had a strawberry milkshake which Alex liked and accidentally Alex dropped most of it. Rich had a burger and Thomas ate some but wouldn't try cheese toastie and it was €24. We went into the kids club which was a very basic room with some toys and bits. Outside there was a grasshopper on Alex's hat which the boys enjoyed watching. We then went back to room and went to sleep with Alex for 1.30 hours as I was still tired. I woke at 2.50 and hard to stir him. We went pool and got ice cream but Alex had a big tantrum as I ate some and put him in a foul mood. He was also having antibiotics twice a day for 5 days for his ears so that could of bothered him. By the pool I had a mango smoothie and Rich a cold beer which was nice. Alex was very miserable on and off all day. Thomas was loving the water guns and having a water fight with Rich. Spent the day doing a mix of small pool and big pool mostly towards the end of the day. There was a little boy called Brian who was following Thomas a bit but didn't speak much English but I spoke to his mum. We went dinner for 7.20 and busier Alex ate cucumber, chips, watermelon and tiramisu cake. Thomas ate chips, pasta, olives. I had moussaka and fish and mushrooms. I tried the soup and sweet cakes. Went mini disco and Alex first loving then Thomas, tried musical chairs but Thomas got all shy so we headed off again.
Thomas slept until 8.20 and Alex 7.15 on Tuesday. Alex ate choc cereal and cake. Thomas potatoes, croissants and cereal. Alex grumpy so Rich took for a walk and I went in big pool with Thomas did some good jumps and we got out the dolphin float and big ring. Rich gave Alex some meds and quieter, both watching kindle then went for lunch. Greek salad for Rich and chicken nugget chips for me and Thomas and chips for Alex. Rich had beer in his favourite frosted glass and I had an Oreo shake which was good, €24.80. Rich took Alex for nap and me and Thomas went big pool and top pool. Got ice creams and Alex wouldn't eat his massive chocolate one to Rich had to dig deep for that. I took Alex to have medicine and pouch and crisps and happier after that. Both sat for a while chilling then went in big pool and top pool and did some good jumping in the pool. Hard to get them out around 6. I had vine leaves, veggie soup, custard dessert for dinner. Thomas was offered to help feed the fishes with Pedros. It was bread and some fish feed and he enjoyed doing that. Rich and Thomas went disco and I took Alex to bed slightly earlier but upset and then the boys came back so just went back to square one settling them both. We were taking it in turns to stay in the room with the boys whilst the other slept outside so that we all got some decent sleep.
On Wednesday Alex woke with a big smelly poo. We walked to the beach which was really filthy (litter and cig butts) there was paid parts which I'm sure were cleaner but the boys never stay for long so didn't see the point spending the money on it. We enjoyed swimming about in the warm sea and throwing pebbles. Just such a shame on the beach condition. Counted the boats with Alex and there was an engine paraglide style thing that went over the sea. There was a strip of restaurants and shops but we didn't go explore on this occasion. Got an ice cream 4.20 on the way back and more water 1.50. Went to the big pool, For lunch had pork gyros, pizza which Thomas didn't like and chips 23, left 26. I took Alex for his nap. Rich took Thomas to the kids club and he played with the entertainer called Julia, who he had a crush on. Once Alex woke we went back to pool and went in the big pool. Tried a peach smoothie. Alex got stung when climbing the water feature and the sting was stuck out so Rich pulled it out and thankfully he didn't react with it. The red/blue water gun got broken as got trapped under a sun lounger. Alex started taking dolphin down slide and then Thomas joined in. Some kids tried to stop Alex but nothing was stopping him. Got a text from the docs about my Matb1 form so I had to text back as they were saying I had to get a midwife to sign it (even though I knew and the form said a doc could) We went in top pool at end and the boys had party rings and shared crisps. For dinner I had fish and roasted veg, Alex ate chips and melon. Thomas chips and pasta. They had these nice coconut and hazelnut desserts the lady went out the back to get me as they had all gone when I went to get one. We didn't go disco as all tired and needed an early night.
On Thursday we sat on the other side of small pool, there were lots of jumping. We played shark attack in the big pool and practiced swimming on our back. There was a deeper section which ran under the bridge we went to a few times. I got talking to a woman about her grand daughter and she loved the boys confidence jumping in the pool. She was trying to build her daughters confidence. The boys had their usual afternoon ice cream and played some games in the pool. Rich went for his walk and talk with Thomas and they found a small bee hive in a tree outside our apartment. It must of been the entertainers day off as there was no mini disco or kids club open on this day. We had chicken nuggets and chips 26/28 ice cream 10.30 Fanta and beer 7. Had nice mash, meatballs and pork skewers and salads and round desserts that were white and normal chocolate. Boys took ages to go sleep and I had a bad sleep and thought my waters had broken but thankfully it was not but I didn't realise I shouldn't be jumping in the pool so I stopped doing that.
Another day, another big poo from Alex, the water and food was keeping him soft at least. It was very cloudy but no rain. I tried the yoga and Thomas's crush was teaching it and Thomas hung around but was all shy so we left a little earlier. Had our daily breakfast cake by the pool. Stayed by the small pool and we had burgers 24/25 for lunch. Alex took ages to go sleep and only had 50 Mins. Rich said some people took float which we don't mind when we don't use it but they were being rough with it and then attempted to put by their sunbed so Rich went and got it. We went and got ice cream 3.80 and water and Fanta limon, Rich's favourite on holiday. Alex grumpy but a nice family gave a hard pink volley ball to play with as they were leaving. For dinner we had bolognaise, fried chicken, cod and chocolate mousse. We stayed for the disco and towards the end all the adults joined hands to create a tunnel for kids to go under. Boys didn't really dance but did do the tunnel. It was Rich's turn for bed duty.
On Saturday, we were awake at half 7 but Thomas was after 8. I had brought some kellogs and the boys enjoyed those for a change. Next door there was a small dead lizard which the boys kept staring at when we walked past. We went to pool but boys didn't go in loads. Brought cake again and had chicken nuggets at lunch 28 and Oreo milkshake. Alex wouldn't eat pouch. When Alex went for his sleep me and Thomas did basketball and teddy machine. We did jellyfish in the pool, chasing him. The boys did some walking together around the little pool and playing catch which kept them busy for a bit. There was a light rain shower so we went for ice cream and bought two more water shoots. We stayed up for the mini disco and the boys enjoyed it.
Sunday, awake at 7.10 Thomas fell out of bed, he could be a right fidget and end up all over the bed. The boys were tired and grumpy as not asleep much before 10 the night before. We walked to the beach and down to the lighthouse but it was dirty and people were sitting around it and others taking pictures and not moving for us to take a picture but the rubbish near it was disgusting. We then went down to the beach but it was more shingle beach and Alex wanted to climb in a boat that was overturned on the beach. Me and the boys went in very briefly but they got bored as always. There was a fire engine kids machine but it wasn't opened. We saw Rich's friend restaurant he recommended but we would never have the time to go especially with the kids who wouldn't eat anything there. We went to the pool and there was lightening towards the sea. Alex went in swimming ring and it got darker. We walked to the high street and went to a restaurant called kukdos and had some yummy gyros and the boys had chicken nuggets for 20.20/23. People around us were smoking loads which was really annoying. We walked back and got ice cream. I got one at a lovely bakery place. The boys were enjoying a Peppa pig ice cream which had vanilla and chocolate separate compartments. Alex had his nap, woke 3.15 but hard to go off. Alex didn't go in pool and Rich did walk and talks a few times with the boys. It did get cloudy and rained but it was almost home time. Went to room earlier and went for dinner. Thomas waving at his girl crush was quite cute. The boys went for a run around but Thomas poked Alex in eye with football foosball table stick deliberately so that was the end of the night.
On Monday we were awake around 7.30, went to small pool and found some pool weights green and yellow which you can throw in to recover. They fought over the green one as usual but there was also a purple noodle left behind so they played with that. Alex liked to fish with it and Thomas used to practice swimming. Thomas played with Vinnie who was slightly younger and his toys. He had lots of weights and a hulk figurine. The green/yellow water shoot got broken again under the chair which was annoying. Rich and Thomas walked to get a big pizza from a place near the beach and we sat at the apartment and we ate on our patio. Later that night, we went to mini disco and Thomas joined in and they did musical chairs and even Alex joined in which was cute. Thomas was down to the last 5. I got chatting to a woman of a family of 5 and we spoke about us expecting another one. The dad showed a way to get the ball from the foosball table (lifted it up) to keep playing.
Tuesday awake around 7.30, breakfast (finishing the kellog cereal) and Rich finished some packing than we went to the pool. Alex went lots in pools in the morning then had some kindle time. Had lunch at pool bar. 22/25 chicken nuggets went with Alex for nap then went for ice cream, Alex had a big Oreo biscuit looking one and drinks. We saw a dead snake in the road on the way back. Thomas pool with Rich and played football game. Alex did a little more pool when he got up. There were some people sat behind us moaning about not enough sun loungers and encroaching on our space. Over a few days George the waiter told us the locals were sneaking into the pool and boss man Pedros was not happy about it. There was a couple with a young boy sat nearby and I shared the toys with him. Later Thomas was trying to climb up the slide and I went to push him up but he lost his hands gripping and split his lip on the slide which looked nasty :( Later that night we went disco and the boys danced with Vinnie. Alex ran off to show me the pool lights. They both did some dancing and we got a picture with his crush and the other girl and Alex, it was really sweet.
Wednesday awake at 7. Finished packing went for breakfast and had some watermelon and bread. Thomas and Alex had cereal and cake. We went to the pool, did some time in the different pools and Rich got some good photos from further up. He left slightly earlier with Thomas and me and Alex stayed until half 10 then had a quick shower. We left 15 for cleaner and got the cab at 11. It was really small and busy roads getting through, I was glad I wasn't driving. Both the boys fell asleep in the hour journey back to the airport. The airport had a small lounge and we had some drinks and croissants and they did some rolls and the boys ate some snacks. We got beef on the flight home which was delicious and Thomas enjoyed the chicken dish. Alex ate snacks as normal. The boys were quiet for the first hour and a half watching their kindles but then they got restless and louder. It also didn't help we were late leaving and had to circle in turbulence waiting for a landing spot. I felt awful and Alex was sick so Rich had that to deal with :(. We had to wait a little while for luggage and the car but were then on our way home. It was late evening so we did a quick bath and turn around to get settled and into bed as it was back to work and nursery the next day. We had a good holiday, our last as a family of 4 and managed to not be as knackered as our last holiday thankfully.

Richard Bosley 'Rich took Thomas to the kids club and he played with the entertainer called Julia, who he had a crush on' - Very unclear who had the crush here!
