Macklen's Euro Trip
Bonjour!
Ok. so to update: on Monday we went to the louvre after having breakfast at the hostel (cereal, croisants, and juice...not much for me...but it does for a lil while). We stayed only for a few hours but I saw all kinds of things...I can't even begin to explain the extensive collections this place holds! It was fun to roam around for a few hours sitting and watching the people, looking at beautiful art that was given to the kings who ruled hundreds of years ago, etc.
Then we walked around and found a cheap chinese place for lunch...we try to eat the local food, but it's usually cheaper for other stuff...oh well. we try. and usually only have about a meal or two in the local cuisine. paris is beautiful. you are right summer..cobble stone roads everywhere, tiny, tiny cars...lots of mopeds...and beautiful families! The families here are amazingly beautiful and so sweet. We've seen all kinds of parents walking around with gorgeous children...and they are so cute with their french accents, and speaking words that i don't even understand! it's great!
Then we walked around a bit more to see the Siene river...and then back to the hostel for a well-deserved nap until 7pm. We got up refreshed, and went to the local butcher to buy a bottle of red wine, recommended by the hostel...The butcher has his own vinyard around here. We got a bottle, a couple of cheap pizzas from a close-by pizza shop and walked to a park close by. It is in front of a mosque, has a great green area...adn we enjoyed our dinner picnic! Near by was a cute cupple eating their meal...the woman came over to me and asked me to take their picture. Of course i said yes...and she proceeded to say that he just proposed to her! It was so cute to see them in love, and engaged! I got to take their first picture as an engaged couple,....I felt honored!!! Then we went back to our hostel and crashed.
