Day 5
Bit of a non day due to no sleep just chilled in the hotel
Day 6- Start of contiki!!
After sitting round the pool and trying to guess who was on our tour, we were all put in a room before being whisked away to an aboriginal park plae where we were showed all types of food and medicines and had our faces painted. We then threw spears and boomarangs, which i actually got to come back ( it was a proud moment) we then had a go on a diggeridoo before watching various dances. that night we all went for dinner at a place called the woolshed which was crazy...there were 4000 american soldiers in Cairns and it was independance day...it was a good night to meet everyone and compulsary in the club to all dance on tables!
Day 7 Great barrier reef is a great cure for a hangover
8am start for the great barrier reef tour. after a rather hungover two hour boat trip to the outer reef we got onto a floating island thing where we spent the day. we went on a submarine type thing which was amazing...seeing the reef and loads of fish..although the reef wasnt as brightly coloured as i thought. we then went snorkling which shiffted that hangover! loads of photos of all sorts of fish...especially one called wally which was like a big dog..you could stroke him...i took an underwater camera so hopfully they'll come out. we sunbathed on the roof deck in the middle of the sea looking out over the reef, pretty cool!!
that night it was back to dry land for more drinks! on a bar crawl although we ducked out early as we had a very early start for a very exciting morning!! sky dive time!
o there was also dan the tour leader....and mark the driver...nicknamed HORSE as he was about 7 foot tall quite literally the biggest man ive ever seen!
Day 8 Skkkkky dive
I cant even write about this in all the detail as it was ridiculously amazing and will probably crash the internet...we got to the skydive place at 9...filled in the forms to basically say if you hit the ground at 200mph and lose your face, its not our fault (bet your glad i kept it quiet debs!!) after a slight plane hitch, we had to wait till 11 to jump 14,000 feet is the highest you can go, even if your a professional! 60second free fall at something like 250kph then 4-5mins back to earth....it was incredible best thing ive ever done and id do it again...the guy i jumped with had been doing it since 1976 and 14000 jumps so i felt pretty safe! you'll have to look at the pics and watch the film, makes it much better then me typing about it!
